Flap-based breast reconstruction is a highly effective surgical option for women who have undergone mastectomy or breast tissue removal. This technique uses tissue from other areas of your body, such as the abdomen, back, or thighs, to rebuild the breast mound, offering a natural look and feel. Each patient’s journey with flap-based reconstruction is unique, as the type of tissue used depends on factors like body shape, surgical goals, and personal preference. The procedure not only restores the breast but also ensures a more organic result compared to implants. These details, along with the ideal approach for your individual case, will be discussed during your consultation with Specialist Breast Surgeon Dr. Michael Yunaev.
