Mastopexy: Breast Lift Sydney

A breast lift can rejuvenate and elevate the breast contour, helping you achieve a natural, uplifted appearance, with or without implants.

Breast Lift Surgery to Restore Shape and Lift

(Mastopexy)

Treatment Overview

Over time, the skin and ligaments that maintain the breasts’ youthful shape can stretch and elongate, leading to sagging and drooping. Genetic and lifestyle factors, including breast size, weight fluctuations, and breastfeeding, can accelerate this process. It affects women of all ages.

Breast lift surgery (also known as mastopexy) is a common procedure that reshapes the breast by addressing the excess, stretched skin that develops with pregnancy, breastfeeding, and ageing.

For men concerned about the shape or size of their chest, we also offer gynecomastia surgery (male breast reduction).

Common Myths About Mastopexy

“A breast lift will make my breasts smaller.”

Not necessarily. A lift repositions and reshapes existing tissue rather than removing significant volume. Any perceived change in size usually comes from a tighter skin envelope, not from tissue loss.

“I’ll lose nipple sensation.”

Changes in sensation are a recognised risk, but permanent loss is uncommon when technique preserves the nerve and blood supply to the nipple-areolar complex. Most patients notice temporary changes that improve over months.

“A lift and augmentation can’t be done at the same time.”

They frequently are. Combining the two in a single operation is common practice and can result in less total time under anaesthesia than staging them separately, though it does require careful planning.
