1. Initial Consultation

Contact us online or call our clinic to book an initial consultation with Dr Michal Yunaev. During the consult, Dr Yunaev will discuss your key concerns, desired outcomes and reasons for pursuing surgery. He will assess your suitability for the procedure, explain what can realistically be achieved, and discuss potential risks, complications, and costs. 

2. Decision-Making Period

We will provide detailed written information about the procedure, costs, and what to expect. This cooling-off period lets you research, consider alternatives, seek a second opinion if desired, and ensure you’re making an informed choice.

3. Pre-Operative Preparation

Once you’ve decided to proceed, you’ll have a second consultation to finalise surgical plans and discuss specific details, such as incision placement and expected outcomes. Our team will schedule your surgery date and provide information about the hospital or surgical facility, as well as pre-operative instructions.

4. Surgery Day

Dr Michael Yunaev will confirm your procedure details, and you’ll have a final opportunity to ask questions. After surgery, you’ll spend time in recovery being monitored before being discharged (for day procedures) or admitted overnight (for more extensive operations).

5. Immediate Post-Operative Care

The first few days after surgery typically involve managing discomfort with prescribed pain relief, following wound care instructions, and watching for any signs of complications. We’ll check in with you during this time and be on call for any concerns.

6. Follow-Up Appointments

Your first post-operative review typically occurs within 1-2 weeks to assess healing progress, remove drains if applicable, and address any immediate concerns. Depending on the type of surgery, we may also schedule subsequent follow-ups in the weeks and months that follow.
