What’s Included in Your Quote
A typical surgical quote is made up of four core fees:
- The surgeon’s fee
- The anaesthetist’s fee
- Theatre and hospital fees
- Surgical assistant’s fee (where required)
On top of this, budget for items that are usually excluded from the headline quote. Uninsured patients should expect additional hospital and anaesthetist costs (noted under each price table below), plus compression garments, post-operative medications, and any pathology or imaging your surgeon orders before or after surgery.
Private health insurance and Medicare may cover part of the hospital, assistant’s, and anaesthetist’s fees for procedures with an eligible Medicare item number, and, in select cases, implants may be covered too.
